Why our Class 1 cover suits
the Nissan Kicks e-POWER
e-POWER technology needs different care. Here is the peace of mind you get with PrakanEV.
Built for the e-POWER drivetrain
The Nissan Kicks e-POWER combines an engine, an electric motor and a high-voltage battery. Our policies are designed to cover damage to all of these parts.
100% Hybrid Battery Cover
For hybrid cars, battery cover does not step down by year, so it is covered at 100% of the sum insured.
⚠️ Note: only battery damage from an accident is covered. Failure that is not caused by an accident cannot be claimed (use the manufacturer warranty).
Cover for damage to your car
- If you hit another vehicle
- If another vehicle hits you
- Single-vehicle accidents (no other party)
- If you hit an object or an animal
- If the car is stolen or catches fire
- Natural disasters (including flood)
- Glass damage: repair or replacement
- Towing after an accident to the nearest repair shop
What Nissan Kicks e-POWER owners often worry about
Hybrids have more electrics, batteries and sensors than regular cars, so choosing the right insurance really matters.
Drives like a 100% EV, no charging station needed
The Kicks uses e-POWER: the wheels are driven 100% by an electric motor, with a 1.2-litre engine acting as a generator. It accelerates like an EV, so in dense city traffic take care with braking distances and rear-ending the car ahead.
Getting used to e-Pedal Step deceleration
e-Pedal slows the car as soon as you lift off the accelerator. It is very convenient, but new drivers and following cars may not expect it, so the Kicks is rear-ended more often than a regular automatic.
Inverter and electric drive motor
Because the drive is electric, a heavy frontal accident or deep floodwater can affect the inverter and motor, which need Nissan technicians trained in e-POWER to assess and repair.
Nissan Kicks e-POWER Insurance FAQ
Is Class 1 for an e-POWER car different from a regular petrol car?▼
The core cover is the same, but Class 1 for the Kicks e-POWER also covers accident damage to the electric motor, inverter and hybrid battery, which are expensive parts.
Are genuine accessories such as the underbody welcome light covered?▼
Yes. Factory accessories on the AUTECH or Star Edition are already included in the sum insured. If you add genuine accessories later (such as the 4,500 THB underbody light or scuff plates), keep the receipts and add them to the policy by endorsement.
Do the Kicks V, VL and AUTECH cost the same to insure?▼
Slightly different. The AUTECH has special styling and premium materials, so its value and sum insured are higher than the V and VL. We price by the trim you choose so cover matches the real car price.
Common parts and repair costs
The Nissan Kicks e-POWER hybrid system and sensors can cost more to repair than a regular car in some cases.

In depth: what Nissan Kicks e-POWER owners should know before buying insurance
1. Cover for specialist e-POWER parts
Class 1 dealer repair is the best choice for the Kicks, guaranteeing genuine parts for the high-voltage system and the generator engine so the car performs as before.
2. Cover for genuine AUTECH and Star Edition styling
For special editions with factory body styling (such as the AUTECH) or extra genuine accessories, our insurance covers their value after an accident. Just declare them by endorsement when the policy starts.
Claim cases to watch for with the Nissan Kicks e-POWER
🚨 Lifting off suddenly: the car behind fails to stop
With e-Pedal Step the car slows sharply when you lift off. If the car behind is too close it can hit you. Class 1 covers repainting the rear bumper and checking the rear parking sensors.
🚨 Frontal impact affects the radiator and inverter
Head-on accidents need extra care in an e-POWER car because the engine bay is packed with electrical equipment. Dealer repair cover assigns specialists to assess the whole high-voltage system.
100% battery cover and 10-month installments
If the Nissan Kicks e-POWER high-voltage hybrid battery is damaged in an accident, our policies cover it at 100% (up to the sum insured) with no step-down depreciation (battery wear with age is claimed under the Nissan warranty). You can also pay the premium in 10 interest-free cash installments to spread the cost.
